Problem Description:
- Lag Spikes: The game runs at 500 FPS, but I experience brief lag spikes when new chunks are being loaded. These spikes last less than a second but occur frequently.
- Environment: The issue occurs in both modded and vanilla versions of Minecraft, with or without OptiFine and other performance-enhancing mods.
- Onset: This problem began occurring recently without any changes to the hardware components. The same PC used to run Minecraft smoothly before the issue started.
Hardware and Software Checks:
-
- Reinstalled Java and Minecraft.
- Disabled antivirus.
- Updated drivers and Windows.
- Checked for thermal throttling; temperatures were within normal ranges.
- Ensured the game and Java are running on the NVIDIA GPU instead of integrated graphics.
Hardware Specifications:
-
-
- Processor: Intel Core i5-9400 CPU
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 SUPER
- RAM: 16GB
- Storage: 932GB SSD, 380GB free
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (64-bit)
- Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B365M-A
