The Ominous Vault generated using the fill command (e.g. /fill ~~~ ~~~ minecraft: vault [dominous=true]) exhibits the characteristics of a regular vault and cannot be opened using the Ominous Trial Key. It can only be opened using the Trial Key and will receive the spoils of a regular vault.
