Mobs that previously could pick up loot are no longer able to pick up new items or upgrade existing items. Testing by spawning mobs with the CanPickUpLoot attribute revealed they could not pick up new loot or upgrade existing items. This could be a reason piglins are no longer bartering. This is only affecting old worlds, worlds created in 1.21 mobs can pick up loot.
