      The problem itself

I've been witnessing lag that lasts around 10-30 seconds whenever I autosave. I can freely move around, but my actions (like mining, or hitting mobs) don't register. The actions that "sort of" register are often reverted back to how they were before the autosaving began. Mobs freeze during autosave, then teleport afterward, seemingly making up for missed movements instantly.

This happens both on the regular autosaving, and on the autosaving when the game is paused.

      When and how it began

The lag began after updating to 1.20.5, and continues in 1.20.6. My world is quite new; it's around a month old, and was created in 1.20.4.

I didn't notice any autosave lag until version 1.20.5. If there was any, it was negligible. The game lagging began immediately after updating.

What I have done to try to fix the problem

I have tried all the points below, and none of them have worked.

      • I have cleaned my harddrive
      • I have "Optimized world", both with and without clearing the cache
      • I have made duplicated of my world, and played them
      • I have installed sodium (optimization mod)
      • Updating Java

I have also reverted the game back to 1.20.4. All of my items (including those in chests) are gone if I do that, but the game doesn't lag anymore.
