Somewhere between 1.12 and 1.18 a large part of the dragon ai broke. Heres some of the ones i noticed:
1) The dragon never uses its melee charge attack. When it was working it did so frequently when near the pillars and often immediately after leaving the fountain.
2) The dragon fireball often collides with the dragon. Arrows have code to stop this happening when you shoot a bow.
3) The fireball attack is infrequent and inaccurate. In older versions the dragon dive bombed you for accuracy and would shoot more often so you had to always be on the run
4) An update to iron bars hitboxes made the cages useless as you can shoot through the corners. It needs to match the shape of the tower.
5) Dragon is generally lethargic and just flies around.
There was no significant update to the end since it was working so it should be as easy as simply using the old AI
