Steps to Reproduce

1. Spawn a fletcher villager with stick trade
2. Give 32 sticks that stack up to 31 or fewer (here, 16):

   /give @s stick[minecraft:max_stack_size=16] 32
   

3. Open trading menu
4. Click the stick to emerald trade

Expected Result
Sticks should not disappear.

Actual Result
Sticks above the max stack count (here, 16) disappears.
