not sure why but i noticed fog in modern verisons seem to be very sudden and as i mentioned, just doesn't look like fog and seems to look really bad for some reason
not sure if it counts as a bug, if theres a better place to put this if it isn't. then at very least let me know where that might be possibly
i'll post an image of the modern fog, and then what it used to look like in older verisons compared to now
Either way, just know it looked more atmospheric before and sorta more true to how actual fog is kinda
where currently it just looks really bad and just as bad if not worse then the fog used to hide unloaded polygons in old games
The image of the swamp is Minecraft Verison 1.20.4 Java edition
The 2 images of the forest was taken from an older verison of minecraft, specificly beta 1.7.3
Edit: Turns out the fog also NOLONGER correctly hides the terrain/skybox or changes color while inside of caves like its suppose to and stays the same color as the skybox when its not suppose to (This didn't happen in older verisons, and correctly changed based on the enviorment the player was in)
And no the color change does not refer to void fog either, it used to completely change based on the enviorment the player was in, which made sense since you really don't wanna see the sky colors of the fog while inside a cave, unless you wanna relive classic/infdev
