Confirmed
If the inventory is open when a potion effect is cast upon a player the status doesn't show unless the player already had another affect before it was opened or until it is re-opened.
What I excepted:
When the potion was effect is cast the status should show next to the inventory.
What happened:
The status does not show.
To reproduce:
1. Remove all potion effects (including beacon ones).
2. Throw a potion directly up.
3. Before it splashes you open the inventory.
4. Particles will be coming out of you but the potion effect status won't show.
