I accidentally used CTRL+B to turn on the narrator, and after trying both with they keybind and in my accessibility settings, it still narrates the UI. Every time I look at a block, it narrates the name out loud. I can't turn this off. I have tried restarting, turning my master volume all the way down, using the keybind again, and changing it in my accessibility settings, all to no avail. It is still narrating my UI. My narrator is set to OFF.
Looking online for any kind of support on this issue has also come back fruitless – I see multiple reddit posts & forum threads where people have asked for help about this exact issue, and all the replies saying they have no idea how to fix it.
I am using mods currently, though I am unsure whether this is causing the bug, as it seems to be a replicatable bug that others are experiencing in vanilla minecraft – and because I'm not using that many mods, and none of them have any reason to be messing with the narrator.
The only way I have found to resolve this issue, at least for now I have resolved it, was to fully delete my options.txt file and factory reset all of my settings – which is a major annoyance to do as I now have to redo all of my custom settings. And many players who encounter this bug may not even know how to do this.
In my opinion, it is definitely something worth looking into. To be exact - I pressed ctrl+B by accident and enabled the narrator, and I think I encountered some kind of conflict between the hotkey and the setting after enabling it with the hotkey and disabiling it in my accessibility settings. There is a disconnect between whether it claims to be off and whether it actually is off.
