      The bug

      In 21w16a and earlier, falling blocks like sand fell smoothly and seamlessly as they landed to turn into blocks. Watch the video:

      After 21w17a and ever since, falling blocks snap to the ground in a pretty jittery fashion, which doesn't look as good:
