Whenever I try to change my controls in the controls menu, the control always goes to "scancode.256" or "SOH\SOH]SOH" (which in the control file says scancode.256). If I go into the game with the hotkey changed to scancode.256, whatever that button does starts happening rapidly (i.e: walking with W or the inventory with E)

I have already checked on this website, some people have also encountered this problem. But none of their problems have been answered.
