when trying to put dyed leather horse armor on a horse by right clicking the horse, it resets the armor to be not dyed

What I expected to happen was...

dyed horse armor on the horse

What actually happened was...
non dyed horse armor on the horse

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dye leather horse armor

2. right click the horse while holding the dyed armor
