      The bug

An item will visually come out of suspicious sand and suspicious gravel through the brushing process. However, the way that item is rotated is different in Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.

For example, a candle will come out wick-first in Bedrock Edition, making it immediately clear what item it is, whereas it comes out side-first in Java Edition, making it harder to see what it is. The opposite is likely true for the new archaeology music disc, as it comes out edge first in Java Edition.

      How to reproduce

      In both editions:

      1. Locate a suspicious block containing a candle
      2. Brush it from the side

      Expected results

The orientation it comes out as would match in both editions.

      Actual results

      It differs.

      How to fix

Item model files could have a new "display" parameter for how they appear rotated and scaled when being brushed out of a block, in much the same way that their held item/item frame/GUI/etc. display modes can be configured individually.
