All cut copper variants have alignment issues except for north facing

North facing stairs highlights and shadow textures align to the blocks properly as seen here:

However the other 3 sides do not

East: Upside down stairs have mismatched highlight/shadows, and bottom stairs have 2 shadow pieces together

South is mismatched overall

West has mismatched on normal stairs, two highlights together on the upside down stairs
