The inventory bugs out when the window width is too small and the recipe book window open. In my screenshots below you can see when it starts to bug out and how it bugs out. The width it starts to bug out (on my system) is 756 pixels. If you increase the windows size to 757, the inventory looks normal and also works normal. Screenshots below show the bug as well as the Display size.
