I started a vanilla minecraft server of the snapshot 22w43a. No options were set, Eula was set to true.
Then I connected with a vanilla 22w43 client, played a bit survival but unfortunately died. My respawn location (bed) was around 700 blocks from world center and I died around 1500 blocks from world center.
Instead of hitting the "Respawn" button I accidentally went to the title screen.
Now when I try to join the server the client is stuck on the "Loading terrain..." screen.
Edit: I would like to add that this also happens in single player worlds.
The problem seems that the server doesn't try to load chunks for the client if they are dead, thus the client if stuck.
How to reproduce
- Start a server and connect a client to it.
- Die in Survival. Make sure your death point and spawnpoint are far away from each other and are not in the spawn chunks.
- Either close the game or go to the title screen instead of hitting the respawn button.
- Try to re-join the server
