This has posed an issue to me since the addition of the light block (the invisible, creative only block) on Java edition. For whatever reason, whenever I try to place the block, it immediately disappears. The block does register for a brief moment, as I can see the surrounding area react to the light, but it goes away instantly. On rare occasion, the block will stay, but as soon as a player gets near the block, it disappears again. I originally found this while playing on realms with data packs. I have tried both local and realm worlds in multiple different versions, all with and without data packs, yet this issue persists. As I tend to mostly focus on map-making, this bug has been extremely annoying for me. I have found nothing at all online to corroborate this bug, so I don't know how many people this bug affects. All I know is that neither my account nor my friend's account (both Java edition) has been able to use light blocks on any world due to this bug. I am fairly certain this is not due to user error, as I have never had an issue like this for anything else in my 10+ years of playing Minecraft, nor have I had any issues with Bedrock edition (the version I am less familiar with). Any help with this bug would be greatly appreciated.
