I recently migrated my old mojang account to a microsoft account, because otherwise minecraft would not work. It worked very well before I was required to migrate. Now, the launcher loads up just fine and I am able to press "play." It prepares for a little bit and then instantly crashes once the game opens. I do not even see the title menu. It displays this message: "Error: Game Crashed. An unexpected issue occurred and the game has crashed. We're sorry for the inconvenience. This crash may be caused by an invalid Java Runtime configuriation. Check any custom configuration settings. Exit code: 1." I honestly have no clue what this could be. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher and that has solved nothing.
