      The bug

      Darkness effect fading in death screen causes a subtle flashing.

      To reproduce

      1. Summon a warden and wait for it to inflict the Darkness effect.
      2. Attack the warden.
      3. After you die, stay on the death screen until the Darkness effect fades.

      Expected result

      The Darkness effect would not be removed, or it would not cause the screen to flash.

      Observed result

      The screen flashes.
