The Bug:

The minecraft:item.armor.equip_generic ("Gear equips") sound is produced when giving piglins gold ingots.

This issue was not present in 1.18.2 or 22w19a.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Obtain a gold ingot and summon a piglin.
• Give the piglin the gold ingot and listen closely as you do this.
• Take note as to whether or not the minecraft:item.armor.equip_generic sound is produced when giving piglins gold ingots.

Observed Behavior:

The minecraft:item.armor.equip_generic ("Gear equips") sound is produced.

Expected Behavior:

This sound would not be produced, just like in 22w19a.
