I made an iron farm as well as a villager breeder and neither of them worked, then after trading with a librarian to get xp by grinding books the librarian stopped restocking and hasn't restocked

What I expected to happen was...:
Iron golems to spawn and villagers to breed

What actually happened was...:
the villagers didn't pick up the food dropped for them (no food item works) and they didn't spawn iron golems even when making an iron farm

Steps to Reproduce:
1. trade with villagers while shift clicking to max out the villager multiple times
2. Drop anything that a villager would normally be able to pick up (like potatoes or carrots) then wait to see if they pick it up
3. build any iron farm or even just wait for one to spawn at a village
