In 1.18.2, I am able to go into the minecraft options.txt file and change my gamma value to whatever I wanted, but in recent cases, it won't affect anything at all in-game. When I close the game to check on it, it resets to 1 when I previously set it to 40.
What I expected to happen was...:
The gamma value in the options.txt file would brighten up my game as much as I wanted it to.
What actually happened was...:
It reset to 1 after I changed it to 40 and saved the file.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the options.txt file by running the command '%appdata%' and finding the '.minecraft' folder
2. Scroll down until you find 'gamma' and set it to anything over 1
3. Once set, save the file and open Minecraft
4. Open a world (here the gamma will be reset to 1)
5. Leave the world
6. Re-open the options.txt file (%appdata%>.minecraft>options.txt)
7. Scroll and find gamma
8. Gamma will have a value of 1
