      The Bug:

Related to or a continuation of MC-250294. It was suggested by a moderator to make this its own report!

In 22w16a, MC-250294 was marked as "fixed" and the huge parity difference in Allay item detection range was supposedly resolved; Java allays could see items from 32 blocks away instead of their former 9.

However, this didn't actually fix the parity issue. With some testing, I've determined that Bedrock allay's item detection is still much larger; 65 blocks or 64 blocks in front of it if you don't count the one it's in. That's at least double that of Java!

I waited a while after the fix to see if the Bedrock range would change within the coming weeks, but as of Snapshot 22w19a and Beta 1.19.0.32, Bedrock's range remains unchanged, so it's hard to tell which is the intended form of this feature.

      How to Reproduce:

      1. Again set up a situation, probably with a dropper, in which an allay has to pick up an item on Java edition from 64 blocks out.
      2. The allay will take no notice, and only go to grab it within a 32 block range.
      3. Try the same thing on Bedrock; the allay will be able to see the item from the entire 64 blocks away and will fly toward it and retrieve it.

The attached videos demonstrate this behavior difference in each version. Although they do not depict the most recent versions, they still accurately reflect the game.
