This has been occurring for 3 years, and I wasn't able to get a crash report until a few months ago. The game will randomly crash after 10 minutes to an hour. It'll usually crash if something happens. If I throw an ender earl, that could crash my game. If someone where to hit me, crash. If something happened out of my range (if someone swapped their offhand), crash. Really any sort of action or piece of code that the game would run, there's a chance that it'll cause my game to crash. I'm very used to it by this point, but it gets very annoying sometimes, especially if it's always a small amount of time.

Usually I'll be playing the game normally, and all of the sudden, my game will freeze. Then after 2-4 seconds, the game will randomly close. Before it would spit out a random exit code without any crash log (for example: Process crashed with exit code -161782456). The number was always a random negative number, and looking it up would lead to a dead end. What's interesting is that on older versions (which I can confirm that 1.8.9 is one of the versions), the game will turn black, and every 5 seconds you will hear all of the sounds that were played during the lag spike all at once. It'll stop responding again for 5 seconds, and you will hear it again. During the 5 seconds before the lag spike would finish, the game would immediately stop responding during those pauses. I know that it's not really relevant here since that's an older version of minecraft, but I feel like it was worth mentioning since it's some extra info on the issue. Also, the crashes are 40% more common on modded clients in comparison to vanilla for whatever reason. Even if fabric is the only thing that's installed, the rate of crashes still stays the same. I've also attempted using the exact same profile on a virtual machine, and the game never crashed a single time for the 2 hours I played on it. I did a ton of research on the issue, but there was nothing on the internet for something like this, so the only place I could go to was here.

Like I've said, on modded clients it's more common for it to happen. I have attached a video of a time where the game would randomly crash on a modded client to showcase what happens. The same exact result occurs on vanilla as well, so it doesn't really matter if its modded in this case.

The next video is the same thing, but on an older version. Like I said before, on versions such as 1.8.9, it acts entirely differently:
