The bug

A sculk shrieker cannot cause the darkness effect to players in its vicinity if manually placed or generated by a charge.

The ability for sculk shriekers to inflict this effect was one of the qualities highlighted at Minecraft Live 2021, and their inability to do this is also unintuitive as the block state simply states it cannot summon wardens, not that it is completely incapable of triggering the effect.

How to reproduce

1. Place a sculk shrieker
2. Be in Survival
3. Stand on the sculk shrieker

Expected results

As the player is in the vicinity of the block, the effect would be triggered.

Actual results

It is not.
