Just got a new 2020 iMac to replace an older model from many years ago, and noticed in a long-term world of mine that the colors in Minecraft were noticeably off. Namely, they were far too vibrant, as though the saturation had been increased dramatically. I thought it was a problem with the iMac at first, so I swapped it out, only to find the same issue on the new one. After taking a few screenshots, I quickly realized that this appeared to be an issue with the game itself.
A few internet searches revealed that others have had this problem with newer iMacs, and even high-end PC monitors, as Minecraft doesn't seem to be optimized for the expanded color array on newer screens. This doesn't affect gameplay in any way, but it does seriously hurt my eyes to look at for more than a few minutes, and this could possibly harm those with photosensitivity.
