Cave bioms can be located in snow bioms. When weather is snowing/raining, there is snow in snow bioms, but in the cave bioms there is rain, even if they are located at the same y level. It is not only visual, there is no snow appearing too. On image there is a clear border between snow and rain, but the whole chunk is in snow biome.
