First of all, I already contacted support with this problem and after a long list of things we tried out they suggested me create a bug here.  So here it goes.

I purchased minecraft in 2011. Which was java and the only version of minecraft to buy and I was able to login and play. First with my user account and later with mojang account. In 2021 I migrated my mojang account to microsoft account. Somewhere around that time there was an option to get minecraft windows edition for free if you already owned a minecraft, i used it. Anyway, after migration to microsoft account i cannot play minecraft java edition anymore as it is not listed as owned by me (neither in the launcher nor on the website). I still have the original email with the transaction id, username and also the original email address I used to purchase it if it helps.

So basically, somehow during the migration from mojang account to microsoft account my minecraft java edition got lost.

Description of the problem:
1. open (latest) minecraft launcher
2. log in with microsoft account
3. at the minecraft java version tab only "play demo" is displayed
