When the dripstone cavern overlaps with mineshafts hanging pointed dripstone can generate hanging from air. Immediately after taking the relevant screenshot, I fell through the floating stelagtite, and while I can understand it not having a bottom texture since it's always supposed to be attached to a full block, it should in my opinion still have collision so that it's walkable in fringe generation cases like this.
