Near my base the sky would darken(gray out) but nothing would happen. It wasn't night time simply the sky would kind of grayen which would normally mean rain but No rain could be seen. Once I was walking around while this was occurring and finally spotted that it was raining somewhere else just not in the area I was based. You can see the cut off in the picture included
