Since 1 Dec 2021 the java launcher crashes when trying to open Minecraft  on my Mac

I am running OS X El Capitan (Version 10.11.6) which is the most up to date operating system that my mac supports

I have the recommended version of Java installed for this operating system which is Java 8 update 311 (released 19 Oct 2021)

I am trying to use the Minecraft launcher version 1036 (1)

Please can you confirm that you will continue to support my set-up and advise when the bug will be fixed or the update rolled back so that we can resume playing the game?

I could not find a crash-report folder
