Mushroom Fields often don't generate and if they do, they are tiny dots barely a chunk big. Being a very rare biome this is very critical, often exploring thousands of blocks to find one and get "treated" with nothing. 

Not partically related to this bug, but Ice Spikes often turn out as small biomes as well...
