On my Mac, there is a very disruptive visual bug. There are flashing rays of white which overlay my Minecraft character's view. The rays are constantly changing (many times per second), and always radiate out from a central point. They radiate from a central point on the horizon. When the character view changes, the rays continue radiating from the same point in space (if I look away, I don't see them in view, but when I turn back they are still flashing there). This does not happen consistently, but maybe 30% of the time. Once it starts, I don't know how to get rid of it - restarting Minecraft sometimes helps, but not always. Adjusting visual settings sometimes helps, but usually not. Setting my render distance really low sometimes helps, but often needs to get too low to be comfortably playable (below 8 ish, but that number isn't consistent either). If I turn render distance below 8, it goes away (in some instances), but when I turn it back above 8, the flashing rays reappear. 

Interestingly, the light burst / flashing rays are always at eye-height - the central point is never on the floor or in the ceiling, it is always at the horizon of the world.

This has happened on multiple versions of minecraft, and multiple Mac OS versions. It is very annoying. This has never happened on my Windows computer.
