Recently I've been experiencing an extremely angering bug with placing blocks. Occasionally when I try to place a single block the game seems to register it as a double click which places two blocks instead of the one that I intended. I've done quite a lot of testing with this bug but no matter what I try the results of my tests all end up the same.
My Minecraft is running on the latest Optifine version and I've tested the difference between vanilla Minecraft and Optifine and there is no difference between the two. I've logged on to multiple servers as well as single-player worlds and there is still no difference. Solutions I've found are extremely minimum as most require me to buy a new mouse or computer which I think is completely unnecessary. My mouse is functioning perfectly in other games and programs on my computer and my PC is relatively high end and I have not experienced problems with it either. I've tried reducing render distance and other aspects to make the game more efficient but all my tests with this come up inconclusive. One interesting thing I found was that the game doesn't experience any frame drops whatsoever when this bug occurs so lag most likely is not the culprit. My game runs regularly at 100 fps and the fps never drops when the bug occurs.
This bug is extremely annoying and frankly makes the game extremely hard to play. I've gotten no help from any forms or searches for this bug.
