MIAN ISSUE

I have a world that I started brand new in 1.17.1. I have a nether portal that I use in the regular. But occasionally when I try to inter the portal from the nether to the overworld, it creates a new portal ~100 blocks away from my original portal. This is quit annoying as I have to travel back to my base that is 100 blocks away through a series of cliff and rivers.

NOTE

Breaking the newly created portals still doesn't work as it keeps on creating new portals adjacent to the old misplaced nether portal. 

Please solve the issue as it would be great. 

I have tried searching this bug, but it appears to be not recorded by anyone.
