Been exploring the new world generation and I was curious to see how strongholds would look like with the new caves. 
Sadly ender pearls wouldnt work, and the locate command would be unable to find the structure, and if there are no strongholds in a range of 201x201 chunks this means that it isnt detecting the first ring of strongholds. So i think it is safe to assume that no stronghold generated in the whole world. I have also tried teleporting further away from the spawnpoint but nothing changed.
