When I'm in a moving minecart and trying to pick up water, lava, or powdered snow block with a bucket, sometimes I'll get a filled bucket but the water/lava/powdered snow still stays in the world. The filled bucket item is a ghost item and returns to an empty bucket as soon as it's updated.
