on older versions of the minecraft typically released before minecraft 1.12.2 (I've only tested this on 1.8.9 and 1.12.2) whenever you enable fullscreen in minecraft then alt tab out of the application you mouse no longer works as your no longer able to click anything. You can still open Terminal though and if I knew more about linux maybe there would be a way to close the game through it but idk. Because your mouse or keybored no longer works (Alt tabbing back in or any other shortcuts other than CRTL ALT T don't work) means you have to force shut off your computer. This has happened to every machine I have install ubuntu on and it is annoying
