The Bug

A recent change that made strongholds not generate below lava level has caused them to spawn above the surface more commonly than it used to. According to the calculations, the deepest part now goes to Y 16 instead of Y 4, causing strongholds to spawn higher. People speed running might use advantage of those exposed strongholds.

How to Reproduce

1. Use the seed 326795066205547 with Default world type
2. Teleport to -64 76 1673
3. Look around the area, noticing several exposed parts and weird world generation

The Error

The stronghold spawned excessively high above the surface. It is a lot more common to find one of those strongholds in your world.
