In the initial release of 1.17, on the realm that I play on with a few friends, automatic villager breeding farms were broken despite meeting all requirements that were necessary. The villagers would start to breed, and then show the broken hearts like something wasn't met, but we went over the list of what was needed about 50 times and couldn't figure out what was wrong.

At this time, manual breeders worked.

1.17.1 dropped and we've been playing on it since, we had a collection of manual bred villagers, but I just went today to breed some more for some stone masons as we need quartz pillars and have depleted our quartz outcrops in the nether. I threw them the required stacks of food, placed about 6 beds that are all in view, though not accessible due to it being part of the auto breeder.

However, neither part of the breeders are working. I have a video of what is happening.

(P.S. I have a texture pack that turns beetroot into corn, that's why it's corn xD)
