While making resource packs, I've discovered an odd anomaly:

When resource packs are reloaded on the main menu screen (as far as I'm aware this can only be done via adding, removing, or changing order of packs in resource pack selection screen), the only thing that doesn't reload is the splash text.

How to reproduce:

1.  Download the attached resource pack and put it into your resource packs folder (no need to unzip)
2.  If you take a look at the files for it, you'll see that the only splash that should appear with it enabled is "This splash will never appear in game!"
3.  Go into Minecraft and enable the pack on the main menu
4.  Notice the splash hasn't changed
