Basically what is happening is that I wanted to play with my brothers and since we are on the same wifi I thought I could just open to lan but it turns out that doesn't work even though we are on the same wifi.
I tried hosting a server and that seemed to do the trick but now since I upgraded to a different version on Mac it stopped opening the jar file to start a server. I have tried to redownloaded the server jar file but it doesn't want to work except vanilla servers. But when I hosted lan on 1.7 it seemed to work just fine. that was a while ago so I don't know if it still works now.
I don't know what you guys can do about it but it would really be appreciated if you could help me out because I am sure I am not the only one suffering this issue.
I don't want to have to downgrade to hope that they work because it still takes up a lot of ram to both host and play at the same time.
