If you make lava stop flowing at a certain point, for example if you make it stop flowing abruptly in the air, (or an easier method, you can go to The End where it automatically stops flowing at y=0), you can see directly out into the air through the lava. This ONLY happens if you are inside the lava, not if you are under it.
