Prior to 1.16.5 this issue did not exist. Now since the 1.17 java update, when right clicking scaffolding to place via shortcut, a 'ghost' scaffolding is created that doesn't bide by gravity or distance 7 rules, nor does it drop anything when broken. Right clicking it to place a scaffolding breaks it. This makes scaffolding setup considerably slower than in previous versions.
