Leaving the end dimension through the exit portal causes any thrown ender pearls (such as those floating in bubble column stasis chambers) within currently loaded chunks to vanish, as if the player died and respawned. This can disrupt teleportation systems that utilize suspended ender pearls, especially if they are in permaloaded chunks.

This bug started at some point in the 1.17 snapshots, and did not occur in 1.16.5. The cause may be similar to that of MC-6431, as the player technically "respawns" upon leaving the end.

      How to reproduce

      1. Throw an ender pearl into a soul sand bubble column near world spawn
      2. Go to the end, kill the dragon, and enter the exit portal
      3. Upon respawning in the overworld, the ender pearl will be gone
