When you are in a minecart, falling onto a track, the minecart snaps to the track quickly, leaving you floating mid-air. Part of this is that the hitbox of the minecart is also with the player, and the minecart you see is out of sync with its hitbox. See video: 2021-04-24 15-53-39_Trim.mp4
