In 21w14a, all ores can now drop their raw variant when mined with a non silk touch pickaxe. Before, all ores that dropped their raw forms also gave experience. These were coal, lapis, emerald, redstone, and diamond. Right now, the new iron, gold, and copper ores don't give experience when mined. I am not 100% sure if this is intended or a bug.
