So, 

I've noticed that my fps have been nearly cut in half since 21w08b ... In the meantime, I've just been silently waiting for this issue to be fixed or for someone else to report a similar bug on this website. 

At first, I thought it was just my personal machine ... so I updated all of my drivers and the issue still persists. Then, I went ahead and attempted to replicate the issue on other machines and (although the difference is not as significant because these other machines do not reach nearly as high frame rates in the first place) the problem persisted. 

Anyway, 

Sorry if this "bug report" does not really belong here ... I know it can be like finding a needle in a haystack with such a general issue, but I think that I have narrowed it down to an issue within the game.
