When trying to open Minecraft on my mac, the launcher won't open. I try to quit the program but it says it's running when I attempt to do so. When I try to force quit the application, it doesn't show up in the list of applications currently running. I oftem have to restart my entire computer to get the launcher to launch. 

I've made sure JAVA is up to date and have uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft and the issue persists

I don't have any problems with the game itself, only getting the launcher to open and launch
