Fishing works but there is no line or bobber visible. If you watch for shimmers and listen for the sound you can still fish, there is just nothing to see. In the images attached you can see from the subtitles you can read the bobber is thrown, splashing, bobber splashes, bobber retrieved, and experienced gained.
